Wintnl.exe spreads by using the vulnerability in Microsoft Windows Plug and Play Service (Microsoft Security Bulletin MS05-039).

Adds the value:
"wintnl.exe" = "wintnl.exe"
to the Windows startup registry keys.
Removal:
Kill wintnl.exe process and remove wintnl.exe from Windows startup.
